Graduate of Academy of Music in Krakow, where he studied violin with Prof. Zbigniew Szlezer, and winner of international music events, incl. the Nicolo Paganini Competition in Genoa, he began his musical journey as concertmaster of the Polish Radio and Television Orchestra in Krakow. In 1983, he joined the famous Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, with which he performed for thirty-­five years as first concertmaster and soloist. The list of his performances with the ensemble includes Violin Concerto No. 1 by S. Prokofiev, Violin Concerto by K. Weill, Violin Concerto No. 3 by J. Hubay, Music for Violin and Orchestra by R. Stephan, Violin Concerto by A. Panufnik, as well as the sensationally received Violin Concerto No. 1 by K. Szymanowski, which had its first performance at the Berlin Philharmonic in June 1994 under the baton of Mariss Jansons.

Performing at the greatest concert halls in Europe, on a number of occa­sions the artist conducted the Chamber Orchestra of the Berlin Philharmonic, and performed as soloist Double Violin Concerto in D Minor by J. S. Bach with Nigel Kennedy. The recording of Bach’s violin concertos, which the artists made for EMI, was regarded one of the best releases of the Bach Year.

Daniel Stabrawa was also leader of the string ensemble Philharmonia Quartet Berlin, which instantly found international recognition and reputation to perform at the most prestigious concert venues – from Japan to the United States. The ensemble released numerous records, which claimed several awards, incl. the prestigious award of German critics, the Echo Klassik (twice).

Daniel Stabrawa regularly performs as soloist at major music centres of the world. He also sits on the jury of several international violin competitions. Involved in conducting for two decades, he was chief conductor of Capella Bydgostiensis Chamber Orchestra, with which he performed in Switzerland, and released a number of records (for CD Accord and Cavalli­ Records).
