The 16th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition in Poznań is under the Honorary Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.

“[...] I would like to express my appreciation to the organisers of the 16th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition – Henryk Wieniawski Musical Society of Poznań together with all the institutions and persons cooperating and supporting this undertaking. I respectfully welcome the Competition’s Jury, comprising recognised authorities in the world of music, as well as the faithful and refined audiences of the Competition. Last but not least, I wish to offer my warm congratulations to the artists who, having qualified to participate in the competition, are now arriving from Europe, America and Asia to compete with their talents, artistry and imagination, in pursuit of distinctions and awards.

Inaugurated back in 1935 – to mark the centenary of its patron's birth – the competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the world. Referring to the figure of the brilliant virtuoso, »the artist prematurely fading from the art world«, as his Warsaw tombstone proclaims, the event serves to identify and promote particularly talented young violinists. New chances open up for the Competition participants, who can follow in the footsteps of numerous laureates of the previous editions of the event for whom the Competition marked the beginning of great international careers. The attention of musical circles from all continents turns these days to the auditorium of the University of Poznań. From there adept violinists accompanied  by the sounds of their music announce to the whole world the arrival of a new generation of performers.

May the Competition in its present edition, like in the previous ones, be an opportunity to admire the skills of splendidly developing artists, who will go down in the future among the most eminent violin virtuosos. May the Jury Members skilfully pick out and acknowledge the best performers, daunting as the task may be in a such an evenly matched group of participants. May the audiences experience many beautiful and unforgettable moments. I congratulate the young artists on their significant achievement, i.e., the chance to perform in front of such an illustrious audience, and I wholeheartedly wish them much further success”. – President Andrzej Duda wrote in an official letter of September 21, 2022.
