The Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition in Poznan has been recognized with the Koryfeusz Muzyki Polskiej Award.

Both the announcement of the verdict and the awarding of the statuette took place on Monday, October, during a gala ceremony at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw. The 16th edition of the Competition received a nomination for "the highest level of organization of one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions in the world, with more than two hundred musicians from thirty countries participating."

"This award is a great honor for us, but it is also a stimulus for further efforts. And we thank everyone who cast their votes for us. We would also like to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed to this edition with us. One year ago, to be exact, on October 23, on the stage of the National Philharmonic, the 16th edition of the Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition came to an end, and in three years' time we invite you to come to Poznań and attend the next, 17th edition. I hope that with such support and with the help of all these extraordinary people we will be able to provide the competition audience with even more excitement and emotion" - Director of the Competition, Karolina Kaźmierczak commented on receiving the Award.

We are particularly excited that the winner in the "Discovery of the Year" category was Competition participant Wojciech Niedziółka. We offer our heartfelt congratulations! We also congratulate violinist Martyna Pastuszka on her award in the "Personality of the Year" category. 
The Koryfeusz Muzyki Polskiej Award is a distinction of the Polish music community awarded since 2011 in four categories: Discovery, Personality, Event of the Year and Honorary Award. The competition is organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
