Seoyeon Baik

She began playing the violin at the age of six. She gave her debut recital at the age of ten after winning the Grand Prix at the Strad Competition. Since then, she has performed regularly as a soloist, appearing in recitals sponsored by the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation and collaborating with prestigious orchestras. She is also a member of the Juvenis Quartet, which she formed with peers from KNUA’s gifted programme. The quartet won first place at the Jeju International Chamber Music Competition. As the concertmaster of the KNUA Orchestra, she is gaining valuable experience in orchestral leadership and performance.

Her dedication and passion for music have led to numerous achievements, including her early admission to the Korea National University of Arts (KNUA) in 2023, when she was 15.

In July 2023, she became the youngest finalist in the senior category of the Ysaÿe International Music Competition. In November 2024, she competed in the Isang Yun International Competition and was awarded the Sungyong Park Special Prize for Young Talent. In 2026, she reached the semi-finals of the Concours Musical International de Montréal (CMIM).
